Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 5, 2026

This policy explains what information Cutvey ("Cutvey," "we," "us") collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It covers cutvey.com and the Cutvey application at app.cutvey.com (together, the "Service"). We've tried to write it in plain English; where a plain-English summary and the law disagree, the law wins.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us

Information collected automatically

Information about your clients and crew

When you store information about your own clients, crew members, or contacts in Cutvey, you are the controller of that data and we process it on your instructions. It is your responsibility to have an appropriate basis for storing it.

2. How we use information

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use the content of your projects, proposals, or media to advertise to anyone.

3. E-signatures

When a document is signed through the Service, we record the signer's name, timestamp, and IP address, and generate a certificate that includes a cryptographic hash of the signature record. This is core to what an e-signature is for, and signers see that it's happening.

4. Sharing

We share information only with: (a) service providers who help us run the Service (such as hosting, payment processing, and email delivery), bound by contractual confidentiality; (b) other members of your workspace, according to the roles and permissions your workspace owner sets; (c) people you choose to share links with (review pages, proposals, delivery pages); and (d) authorities when the law genuinely requires it.

5. Retention and deletion

Your data stays in your workspace as long as your account is active. Workspace owners can export a full backup at any time and can request complete account deletion, which permanently removes workspace data from production systems within 30 days, subject to legal retention requirements (for example, invoicing records we must keep for tax law). Workspace owners can also configure their own retention policies inside the product.

6. Security

Transport encryption (TLS), passwordless sign-in with short-lived hashed codes, optional two-factor authentication, role-based access control, and audit logging. More detail is on our security page. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach affecting your data, we will notify you consistent with applicable law.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, or to object to certain processing. Workspace members can exercise most of these directly in the product; for anything else, email contact@cutvey.com and we'll respond within 30 days. If you're in the EEA or UK, you may also lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

8. Children

The Service is for businesses and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Changes

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll notify workspace owners by email and post the update here with a new effective date.
