AI in Cutvey
Help with the paperwork. Hands off the footage.
Filmmakers are right to be careful about this. So here is exactly where Cutvey uses AI: the paperwork, the follow-ups and the questions you would ask a bookkeeper. It never edits your footage, your color or your sound.
- Ask about your business
"Who still owes us?" "What is due this week?" The assistant answers from your own workspace, and in a shared conversation it keeps money away from anyone who may not see it.
- Paste it, and it drafts the record
Paste an inquiry email and it drafts the lead. Snap a business card and it fills one in. Nothing is saved until you press the button.
- Proposals and follow-ups
A first draft of the overview, a polish, a check before you send, and a follow-up when a proposal goes quiet.
- Receipts and briefs
Receipts read into expenses, a short morning brief on the dashboard, and a brief for each shoot day.
- Transcripts
Searchable transcripts of your cuts, with captions as SRT or VTT, made on Cutvey's own media server with no third party.
- Moodboard help
Suggestions on a board when you ask for them. Pictures go to the model only if an admin switches that on.
What it never does
- It never edits, generates or judges your footage, your edit, your color or your sound.
- It never saves a record, sends an email or charges a client on its own. You press the button.
What it reads: the text you give it, and the workspace data needed to answer. A business card photo, a receipt, and moodboard pictures when an admin turns that on, are sent to the model too. We do not currently use your workspace data to train generalized AI models. AI features process the data they need, and we may send it to AI service providers. The Privacy Policy and the subprocessor list name the AI providers we use.

A live meter in Settings shows what you have used. When the allowance runs out, AI help pauses until your next billing date and everything else keeps working. A transcript counts one action for each started 10 minutes.
Bring your own assistant
On Pro, Studio and Enterprise you can connect ChatGPT or Claude to your workspace, so the assistant you already pay for can read your pipeline, invoices and schedule and draft into Cutvey. It uses no Cutvey AI actions. It cannot send, sign, pay or delete. The setup guide takes five minutes.
