Add scope with a change order
On this page
A change order adds scope to a signed job: extra cut-downs, another shoot day, a second location. The client reads it and e-signs it, and the money follows.
Make one
- Open the project's Money page, go to Change orders and press Add change order.
- Give it a Title, like "Added social cutdowns", and an optional reason.
- Add a line for each item, with a detail and a rate. Tax is worked out at the project's tax region.
- Press Create and send to email the client, or Save draft to finish later.
Preview shows the page your client is sent. Opening it there is not counted as the client viewing it.
If you would rather send the link yourself, Mark sent and copy link copies it.
What the client does
The client opens the link, reads the change order and signs it, or declines it with a reason. The project shows each one as Draft, Sent, Viewed, Approved, Declined or Void.
When the client signs
- Cutvey raises an invoice for the change order, due on receipt, with its tax. Open invoice goes to it.
- The project's contract value goes up by the change order's amount before tax.
- You get a notification, and the client gets a signed copy.
Change it or take it back
Until it is signed, you can edit a sent change order. The client's link shows the new version at once, and someone who had already opened it reads the new version before they can sign.
Void change order withdraws one that is not signed: the client's link says it was withdrawn. This cannot be undone. A draft that was never sent can simply be deleted.
If you void the invoice of a signed change order, the contract value comes back down once.
See them all
All change orders lists every change order across your projects and where each one stands. They also show on the client's portal as something to sign.
What it does not do
A change order adds to the job. It does not edit the signed proposal: that stays as the client signed it. Cutvey does not write or check your change order terms.
