Approvals and team sign-off

Cutvey lets your team check a cut before the client sees it, and keeps a permanent record of every approval. Here is how the pieces fit together.

Internal approvals

You can require a number of internal approvals on every cut before it reaches the client.

  1. Go to Settings > Proposals and set Internal approvals required.
  2. On a cut, teammates press Mark internally approved.
  3. The cut shows progress, for example 1 of 2 internal approvals. Until it is complete, the client does not see that cut.

Team sign-off on a project

You can also name team reviewers on a project. While a team reviewer has not signed for a cut, it stays with your team. Every new version asks the team again, so a fresh cut never slips past them. Cuts they already signed for stay visible to the client.

How a client approves

On a review link, the client presses Approve and then confirms that it is final by typing their name. If you send personal sign-off links to named reviewers instead, each one approves with a signature.

Approvals are kept as a permanent record. An approved cut cannot be deleted, and approval can also unlock the client's final files. See Downloads that unlock on payment.

Reopen an approved cut

Plans change. Press Reopen for review on the cut and give a short reason. The cut opens for notes again. Reopening changes no invoice and does not touch the delivery, and the original approval stays on the record.

Who has seen it

Cutvey shows how many times a link was opened and when it was last opened. It does not track each reviewer one by one.
