Downloads that unlock on payment

Cutvey can hold final files until the job is paid. Nobody has to remember to switch anything on: the files open by themselves at the right moment.

When files unlock

A delivery unlocks when both are true:

  • The client has approved a cut.
  • The contract is paid in full.

A project with no contract value unlocks as soon as the client approves. Until it unlocks, the client's delivery page shows still frames only, never the files.

Release without payment

Sometimes you trust a client and want to send the files before the last payment. You can.

  1. Open the project and go to Deliver.
  2. Press Release without payment.
  3. Write a short Reason for releasing. It stays on the record.

The files open for the client. Nothing else changes: the invoices stay open, reminders keep going, and nobody is emailed. The project shows Released with what is still owing, so it is never confused with a paid job.

If a client says the files are locked

Check two things on the project: is a cut approved, and is every invoice toward the contract paid? If one is missing, that is why. Once the payment lands, the files open within moments.
