Share a cut for review
Every project has a Review section. You upload a cut there, send your client one link, and their notes land on the exact frame they are about. Clients never need an account.
Upload a cut
- Open the project and go to Review.
- Press Upload cuts, then drop your files or choose them.
- Wait for the cut to finish processing. Cutvey makes streaming copies so it plays smoothly on any connection.
You can review video, still images, audio and PDFs. A single file can be very large, so a full-length master is fine.
Send the link
- Copy client link gives you the link to paste anywhere.
- Send to client, under the cut's More menu, emails it for you. The project needs a client email for this.
- Link settings lets you add a 4 digit password, a last day the link works, turn downloads on, or turn notes off on that link.
How notes work
Your client presses play, pauses on a moment and writes a note. It is stamped with the timecode. They can draw on the frame with Draw on frame to point at exactly what they mean.
Your team can reply, mention each other, and leave an Internal note (only your team sees it) that the client never sees. Only your studio can attach a file to a note.
For a PDF proof, each note names the page it is about. For an image, the client can zoom in and mark it up.
When the client approves
On a review link the client approves by typing their name. Once a cut is approved, the client can no longer add notes, and your team's new notes are internal. The approval is kept on record. If you need to open it again, use Reopen for review and give a reason.
