Contract templates and your clause library

Your clause library holds the paragraphs you use again and again: usage rights, cancellation, payment terms. A contract template puts them together with your own text, ready to send.

Build your clause library

Go to Settings > Clauses & Releases. Add a clause, give it a name, write the text, and file it under one of the categories: Terms, Usage rights, Cancellation or Other. The same page holds your release templates for talent, minors, locations and property.

Make a contract template

  1. Go to Sales > Contracts and press Templates.
  2. Give the template a name and a contract title.
  3. Write the agreement text. Use the merge field buttons to drop in details like the client's name or the project's due date.
  4. Under Clauses from your library, tick the clauses you want. They are added after your text, in order.
  5. Press Save template.

Merge fields

Merge fields are filled in once, when you create a contract from the template. You can use the client's first name, name, company, email, phone and address; your studio's name, address and phone; your own name; the contract title; the project name and due date; and today's date.

Changing a template

Editing a template changes the contracts you make from it next. Contracts you already created keep their own text.
