Send your first proposal
On this page
A proposal in Cutvey is a page your client opens from an email, reads, and signs online. When they sign, Cutvey creates the project, files the signed proposal as the contract and, if you take payment on signing, raises the first invoice.
Start a proposal
- Go to Sales > Proposals and press + New proposal.
- On Set up, pick a starting point: a starter from the Starters tab, one of your saved templates, or Blank.
- Choose the client and the project details. Leave Take payment on signing on if you want a deposit invoice the moment they sign.
There are starters for brand films, corporate video, commercials, weddings, music videos, documentaries, real estate, aerial work, social retainers and photography. Each one is a full draft you can change.
Build it
On Build you write the document: the cover, the sections, and the price. Pick Simple for line items with optional add-ons, or Packages to offer up to four choices. See Offer packages in a proposal.
The settings sheet holds the rest: how much is due on signing, the expiry date, and the Client options, which are all off until you turn them on.
Send it
On Send you choose who it comes from and who it goes to.
- Add each recipient, and tick Required to sign for anyone who must sign.
- Tick Recipients must sign in the order they appear below if the order matters.
- Write your email under Write your email, or press Draft with AI for a first draft.
- Press Send now. To share the link yourself instead, choose Save & get links.
What signing does
Signing creates the project, keeps the signed proposal as its contract, and raises the first invoice (the deposit, or the first milestone if you set a schedule). If the client agreed some other way, open the proposal and use Record acceptance.
Proposals count toward your plan each billing month: Solo 10, Pro 50, Studio and Enterprise unlimited.
