Move from HoneyBook or Dubsado

You can move to Cutvey on your own in an afternoon. Export your data from HoneyBook or Dubsado as CSV files, then bring them in from Settings > Import. Cutvey knows both export layouts, so most columns are matched for you.

Before you start

Export these from your old tool, each as its own CSV file:

  • your clients (or contacts)
  • your active projects
  • your open invoices, the ones still owed

Import each file

  1. Open Settings > Import.
  2. Under What are you importing?, choose Clients, Leads, Open invoices or Active projects.
  3. Under Where is the file from?, choose HoneyBook or Dubsado. The columns are matched for you, and you can change any of them.
  4. Choose your file and check Match your columns. For anything but clients, set the date order (month first or day first) to match your old tool.
  5. Press Check the file. Cutvey shows what will be imported, what will be left out and why, row by row. Nothing is saved yet.
  6. Press Import now. Then choose Import another file for the next one.

What happens to each kind

  • Clients each need an email address.
  • Projects keep their name, client, type, due date and phase. The project date, any notes and the value go in the project's internal note. Someone who can manage finances can tick Use each project's value as its contract value instead.
  • Open invoices arrive as already sent, with what is still owed. Their reminders and late fee start switched off, so nobody is chased by surprise.

Nothing is emailed to anyone during an import.

What does not come across

Files, proposals, signed contracts, payment history and old emails stay in your old tool. Keep your export there until you are settled.

If a file is bigger than 2,000 rows, split it into smaller files and import each one.
