Build a shot list and storyboard
The shot list is the plan for the camera. The storyboard draws the same list as frames. Both are in the project's Plan section.
Add shots
Open Plan > Shot list. Type a description of what the camera sees and press Enter to add it and keep typing. Shots are numbered by position unless you type a number.
Press More fields for the rest:
| Field | Choices or example |
|---|---|
| Shot size | Wide, Full, Medium, Close-up, Extreme close-up, Over the shoulder, Insert, Aerial |
| Angle | Eye level, High angle, Low angle, Overhead, Dutch angle |
| Movement | Static, Pan, Tilt, Dolly and more |
| Lens, frame rate, audio | Your own words |
| Location, cast, gear | Picked from the project's lists, or typed |
| Setup, scene, shoot day | To group and order the day |
Edit any cell in place, or open the full editor for one shot. Use Group by to see the list by shoot day, setup or scene, and Columns to choose what this browser shows.
On the day
Tick Done as each shot is covered. The top of the list counts shots done and the time left, from each shot's minutes.
Import and export
Import CSV adds shots from a spreadsheet. Export CSV and Download PDF give you the list to share or print. A list can hold up to 2,000 shots.
The storyboard
Open Plan > Storyboard. Each shot is a frame, in shot list order. For each one, Upload a picture (a JPEG, PNG, WebP or GIF, up to 15 MB) or Use a moodboard picture. Choose the Frame shape, and move frames earlier or later to reorder the shots.
A picture on a web address is a link and is never drawn in the frame. Upload it to show it.
Moodboard references
A shot can link to cards on the project's moodboard. They show as References on the shot, and Use as the photo puts one in the storyboard frame.
Who sees it
Your team, and booked crew if you share the shot list with them in the project's Settings. Clients do not see the shot list or the storyboard.
