Transcripts and captions

Cutvey can listen to a cut and write down what is said. You get a transcript you can search, captions on the video, and subtitle files to download.

Make a transcript

  1. Open a video or audio cut in the review room.
  2. Press Transcribe.
  3. Under Spoken language, leave Detect it for me or choose the language.

It runs on Cutvey's own servers. No outside service hears your audio. It never starts on its own: only when someone on your team presses the button.

What it costs

A transcript uses your plan's AI actions: one for every started 10 minutes of sound. The actions are set aside when you press the button and settled to the sound actually heard. If a transcript fails, the actions come back. See AI actions and the assistant.

A cut longer than 3 hours cannot be transcribed, and a workspace can have up to three transcripts waiting or running at once.

Use the transcript

  • Search the transcript finds a word or a phrase.
  • Press a line to play the cut from that moment.
  • Show captions on the video lays the words over the picture. It is off until you turn it on.
  • Download subtitles (SRT) and Download subtitles (WebVTT) give you files for your edit or a video platform.

Share it with reviewers

Each new transcript starts private to your team. Turn on Show the captions and transcript to reviewers when you want the client to see it too. Press Transcribe again if you change the cut or the language.
