Automatic emails and email templates
On this page
An email template is a message you write once. Give it a trigger and Cutvey sends it by itself when that thing happens. Everything here is in Settings > Email & Automation.
Make a template
- Under Email templates, press + New template.
- Give it a Name, a Subject and a Body.
- Choose a Trigger from the list below.
- Set a Delay (hours), or 0 to send at once.
- Press Create template.
The triggers are:
- Manual only: you use it yourself, and it never sends on its own.
- New lead from a form or your website
- Proposal sent
- Proposal signed
- Payment received
- Video approved
- Files delivered
Use merge tags to fill in each email, such as {{client_name}}, {{org_name}}, {{sender_name}}, {{project_type}} and {{amount}}. The editor lists the ones it takes.
Disable stops a template sending without deleting it, and Enable turns it back on.
Scheduled and sent
Scheduled sends lists delayed emails waiting to go, which you can also run now. Recent sends shows the last twenty emails your workspace sent.
Your plan's limit
Templates with a trigger that are switched on count as automations, together with your switched-on workflows: Solo 3, Pro 10, Studio and Enterprise unlimited. Manual templates count nothing.
More than one step
For a sequence, such as an email, a wait, a task and a form, use a workflow. See Automate the steps with workflows.
On the same page
- Sending identity: the From email, the Reply-to, and the Proposal email signature added to the end of every proposal email. Sending from your own domain is on Pro and up: see Send email from your own domain.
- Engagement tracking: Track email opens and clicks for client email. Off means no open pixel and no tracked links in any email from your workspace. New workspaces in the EU, EEA, UK and Quebec start with it off.
What automatic emails do not do
They never send for a sample record, and they stop when a subscription ends, so a client is not emailed by a workspace that is no longer running. They are not a newsletter tool: there are no mailing lists or campaigns.
