The client portal

The client portal is one place for a client to see their work with you: their projects, documents, invoices, messages and what is waiting on them. It wears your logo and colors.

Clients never need an account to open a proposal, a review link or an invoice you send them. The portal is extra: it gathers everything in one place.

What a client sees

  • Overview: their projects, and Waiting on you: proposals and contracts to sign, change orders, releases, forms and questionnaires to answer, cuts and review packages to review, and moodboards to approve.
  • Projects: each production with its live status, its cuts in review, and the final files and galleries once they are ready. Final files show as locked until the balance is paid, unless you released them.
  • Invoices: every invoice, with Pay now for anything due.
  • Documents: their signed paperwork, to open or download any time.
  • Messages: the project conversations you opened with them.

They never see your internal notes, your team's conversations, your costs or other clients.

Invite a client

Adding a client sends nothing. On the client's page, under Client portal access, press Send portal invite. They sign in with their email address and a one-time code, with no password.

Portal login page opens the sign-in page you can link to from your own website.

Withdraw access

Press Withdraw portal access to end their sign-in at once. Any session or app they were signed in on ends, and their record is untouched. Restore portal access turns it back on.

Your own domain

On Studio and Enterprise, the portal can live on your own subdomain, like portal.yourstudio.com, and you can remove the Cutvey credit. See Your client portal on your own domain.

Language

The portal, and the emails that bring a client to it, are in the client's language. See Client languages.
