Connect Stripe
On this page
Cutvey takes card payments through your own Stripe account. Your clients pay on Stripe's secure checkout, and payouts land in your bank on your Stripe schedule. Cutvey never holds your money.
Connect your account
- Open Settings > Payments.
- In the Card payments card, press Connect Stripe.
- Stripe opens. Sign in to an account you already have, or create one, and answer Stripe's questions about your business and bank.
- When Stripe sends you back, the card shows a status.
You can also connect during setup, in the How you get paid step, or later from your dashboard.
What the status means
- Connected: you are ready. Invoices can be paid by card.
- Onboarding incomplete: Stripe still needs something from you. Press the button again to finish.
- Needs attention: Stripe has asked for more details, or paused the account. Open your Stripe dashboard to see what it wants.
- Not connected: no account is linked yet.
Card payments on new invoices
Tick Offer card payment on invoices by default so every new invoice carries a pay button. You can still turn card payment off on a single invoice.
Other ways to get paid
Not every client pays by card. In the same place you can add bank transfer instructions, and the payment apps you accept, like Zelle or Venmo. Those payments happen outside Cutvey, so you record them yourself with Record payment on the invoice.
Changing the account
To move to a different Stripe account, disconnect the current one and connect the new one. Invoices already paid keep their record. Connecting or changing the account is done on the web, not inside the Cutvey app.
